Explore Ecuador for 6 days Quito

Description

Journey with Birdview Travels to Ecuador and gathering up experiences which include visit to the monument built to mark the exact location of the Earth's equator, the imaginary line that divides our planet into northern and southern halves. Uncover the secrets of Quito, the capital of Ecuador, and delve into its colonial architecture, rich history, and thriving culture .

Tour Schedule

Day 1

Arrive in the city. Settle in to your hotel room and take some time to relax. No breakfast on arrival day.

Day 2

After you meet your group at the pickup point in Quito, head north to the parish of San Antonio de Pichincha, a rural area where the Southern and Northern hemispheres meet. See the monument, built to commemorate the work of 18th-century scientists who calculated the equator's position to within one-seventh of a mile (240 m).  As you view the monument and its surroundings, find the line made on the plaza to mark the equator and stand with one foot in each hemisphere.

Day 3

Today, after convenient pickup from your hotel, take a drive to Quito's historic center. See the city's most prominent historical landmarks including the Basilica of National Vow, La Compañia Church, and the Government's Palace. Stroll through charming colonial streets and visit the imposing Church and Monastery of St. Francis, an imposing sanctuary featuring design that evolved over its nearly 150 years of construction.

This full-day experience includes a sightseeing tour of the city's main landmarks, a ride on the famed Teleférico cable car, and a hike up Pichincha Volcano.

Day 4.

An early pick up form your hotel (8h00 approximately) to take a ride to the northern part of the city towards Middle of the World Site. On the small Mitad del Mundo citadel you will visit the Middle of the World Monument, built in honor to the French Scientific Expedition (XVIII century) that tried to defin the location of the equator for the first time. Afterwards, you will visit the Inti Ñan Museum, a scientific and cultural museum located in the real location of the Equator Line. We will hit the road again heading back to the city to step into the past wondering around Quito Historical Center.

Day 5

This day is set aside for you to rest, shop and visit places of your choice if there are.

Day 6

Departure! Hotel Pick up time is 3hours 5mins from flight departure time.
